10 Q's to ask when choosing an advisor
10 Questions to ask when choosing an advisor
Tributary Wealth Management Key points: I wanted to answer a few questions that you may have as you decide on working with an advisor
1. What experience do you have that makes me confident in this firm?
My life and education provided me the foundation to build upon. My years at Wells Fargo built upon these blocks and gave me the confidence in starting my own firm. Almost a decade in this industry has taught me that it is constantly changing, and clients should look for advisors and firms that are agile enough to change with these times.
2. What are your qualifications?
Over the years, I have attained an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor certification, along with my Certificate of Financial Planning designation. These alone do not guarantee success in this industry, but I am proud to combine them with my personal traits that create a unique and unmatched client relationship.
3. What services do you offer?
I want my clients to consider me their personal CFO. I advise on all financial matters and am only limited in scope by how broad you wish to utilize my services. There are many factors in your financial life, it is my job to make sense and structure of them so that you may focus on what is important in your world.
4. What is your approach to financial planning?
I try and make these complicated matters as simple as possible. Once our trust is built, we take steps to gather where you are, envision where you want to be, and create a bridge to get you there. In my practice, I not only build this bridge for you, but I will hold your hand as your cross it throughout the many stages of your life.
5. Will you be the only person working with me?
Directly, yes. But I have made sure to surround myself with resources across all industries to assure that your specific needs are met. I work hand in hand with other senior advisors, lenders (both through banks and privately), Private Equity firms, and of course CPA’s and Attorneys.
6. How will I pay for your services?
All fees will be disclosed prior to any relationship agreement. Typically, my fees are asset based on a percentage of funds invested with me, or a flat monthly dollar amount. I have a very flexible fee structure, which takes into account the work we will do together, and what you can afford from your budget.
7. How much do you typically charge?
You will find that my fees are some of the lowest in the industry. That is not because I consider myself of lesser quality. Instead, I look at it as an investment in our relationship. I am confident that we will work together for years to come, and so am happy to reduce fees and keep more money in your household.
8. Could anyone besides me benefit from your recommendations?
As a CFP I am guided by the fiduciary standard and thus any conflicts of interest or interested parties would need to be disclosed prior to any confirmation.
9. Have you ever been publicly disciplined for any unlawful actions in your career?
No. See my record at brokercheck.com.
10. What happens if something happens to Alex Orlando?
Your account would maintain its fiduciary relationship with another advisor from Key Client Fiduciary Advisors. This fiduciary will be bound to act in your best interest.
